Head north on the Melba Highway (past the Dixon’s Creek Café) and you will find this little beauty of a winery on the Eastern side of the road.
This winery is home to one of the most unique sparkling wines you will ever try: Sparkling Temperanillo.
Originally Spanish, Temperanillo produces wine that is dark purple in colour, but light in body. Sutherland Estate is the only winery we have found making a sparkling wine from the grape. To look at you would think you are drinking sparkling grape juice with a head of foam. To sniff you may be forgiven for thinking that the wine has long gone off but to drink… it is like Christmas Plum Pudding in a glass. The length is exceptional and the complexity of flavours something to marvel at.
